“For we must all appear before the judgement seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.” 2 Corinthians 5:10
It’s a common accusation in today’s world. “Don’t judge me, man!” We say this in response to something wrong being pointed out in our lives. What it boils down to, though, isn’t really about being judged. It’s about being convicted of something wrong in our lives.
True judgement can only come from God. The Bible tells us that everyone will stand before the judgement seat of God. Yes, even those of us who are believers will have to answer to God for what we have done on earth. This judgement, revealed in today’s verse, is known as the Bema Seat. Let’s be clear — this is not where our eternity is determined. Once we have made Jesus our Lord and Savior through faith, our eternity is set in heaven. But we will answer for what we did while on earth.
When you stand before that judgement seat of God, what will you have to answer for? Remember to use what God has given you to do what God has set before you!
Keep this question in mind as you go through the day: “What are you doing with what God has given you?” Use it as motivation to accomplish what God has set before you.
Father, I humbly acknowledge You as the ultimate judge in my life. Please give me the strength to accomplish what You have for me while I am here. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
