Take a Friend-ventory

Read

2 Timothy 2:22, "Flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart."

Think

"Show me your friends and I'll show you your future." Trouble always wants company. We've all been with the wrong crowd and made those dumb "what was I thinking" decisions. Conversely, the right company can exponentially increase the number of good decisions that we make. We are the company that we keep! That is exactly why church involvement is so much more beneficial than church attendance. You may have kicked the tires of Fellowship Church for a while, but the real benefit comes when you dive in! Nothing comes close to the relationships you can build as a part of a local church. Where else are you going to rub shoulders with the RIGHT T.H.E.Y....people who are Tough, Honest, Encouraging, and Yielded to God? Timothy was a young, up-and-coming leader who knew that, in order to accomplish his mission, he had to keep the right company. The same thing is true for our lives today. Surrounding yourself with the right T.H.E.Y. isn't always easy, but it's always worth It. Our lives are better when we are connected to the only thing that God ever built ... the local church.

Act

Let's take a quick friend-ventory. Are there toxic people in your life you need to quit associating with? Maybe there are some relationships you need to invest more in? Make a list of relationships and pray over every name this week asking God to help you evaluate your next steps.

Pray

Dear God, thank you for bringing me to Fellowship Church. I am so grateful to be surrounded by people who love me and want to help me follow you. Help me to be the kind of friend that I'm looking for in others. In Jesus' name, Amen.
