Psalm 139:23-24, “Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.”
No human can search your heart and know exactly what you’re thinking. But, there is Someone who can do that and do it with your best outcome in mind! God knows everything about us – the good, the bad and the ugly – and He still loves us and believes in us!
At Fellowship Church, we talk about “setting others up for success.” That means that when someone is challenged to follow through on an important task, we do everything possible to make sure they have all the tools and resources they need to do it right, where it will benefit all.
In today’s scripture, David asks God to “set him up for success.” He’s asking God to do four extremely important things that could next-level every area of his life. What are those four important words? He’s asking God to search, know, test, and lead him! David trusts that God can not only see the truth about him, but can show him what steps to take next so that he can reach his full potential. Those are four great words that you should ask God to do to set you up for success, too!
Write these four words on paper and put them where you will see them daily. God himself will impact your life much more if you say this same prayer to God daily, just like David did. Ask God to search, know, test, and lead you and enjoy the benefits of success that will come your way.
Dear Lord, You know that I want to succeed in everything I set my heart and mind on. I commit to praying this prayer so that I can intentionally follow You in every situation. Search, know, test, and lead me in everything I do. Amen.
