Read

Matthew 6:25, "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?"

Think

Like ads for the latest medicines, worry comes with a laundry list of side effects: depression, heart disease, weight gain, headaches, etc. Yet, unlike the latest drug therapies, there's absolutely no upside to stress. Today's verse says, "do not worry," a word picture of someone choking. Anxiety can easily gain a chokehold on our lives. But God, who breathed life into our lungs, doesn't want us to be enslaved by unnecessary stress. To live out His best for our lives, we must trust God and understand that His provision and plan never fails! He is always in control and wants us to lift our worries up to Him in prayer. This allows us to redirect our stress and harness the energy in a positive way to motivate us for success. Modern medicine is a great gift, but its effectiveness is never 100% guaranteed. Not so with the peace of Christ that transcends all understanding! There's no situation it can't breach. So, take a deep breath and turn your worry list into a prayer list. You'll be amazed by the overwhelming sense of freedom you feel!

Act

Make a list of all your worries and problems. Then, turn your worry list into a prayer list. Pray over each situation and remember God is in control. As God works through each situation, cross it off your list.

Pray

Dear Lord, as I lift up my worries to You, help me to remember that the peace of Christ is all-powerful and always present. So, the next time I begin to worry, nudge my heart to lift the situation up to You. I trust You completely knowing Your love never fails! In Jesus' name, Amen.
