Path to Peace

Read

John 10:10b, "I have come that you might have life and have it to the full."

Philippians 4:7, "And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

Think

Life can be chaotic, right? So often, it moves at warp speed. We turn around, and another year has come and gone. But does life have to be filled with stress and chaos? Is peace reserved only for those who live on an exotic beach or remote mountain cabin?

Jesus came to give us a life full of peace – right where we are. If we're honest with ourselves, much of our stress is due to our priorities being out of order. To calm the chaos, we need to start by putting God first. When we attempt to order our own life without putting God securely at the top, life will continue to be stressful, unfulfilled, and chaotic. But this isn't what God wants for us! God truly does want His best for our lives.

Imagine experiencing God's best in every area of your life – a life of peace that transcends all understanding, even when life is moving at warp speed. That type of life is possible when we put God first in our day, thoughts, and plans. Begin to put God first and experience a full and peaceful life that brings order to chaos.

Act

Make a list of your activities from the last several days. Does the list reflect God as the top priority? If not, arrange your activities for the rest of the week with God first. Journal about the difference you experience in this reprioritization.

Pray

Father God, thank You for loving me. I know that You want to give me peace, and I know that peace will allow me to experience Your best in my life. Help me to give You control and prioritize every realm of my life according to You, so that I can experience Your peace and blessings. In Jesus' name, Amen.
