Daniel 5:5, 8:  "Suddenly the fingers of a human hand appeared and wrote on the plaster of the wall, near the lampstand in the royal palace. The king watched the hand as it wrote ... Then all the king's wise men came in, but they could not read the writing or tell the king what it meant." Galatians 6:10,  "Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people..."

Think

Have you ever missed something so obvious that when you looked back on it, you couldn't believe you didn't see it the first time? Maybe it was the answer to a test question in school or a directional sign you passed on your way out of town. Well Belshazzar, the millennial king, was oblivious to the obvious. He sat in the pole position to point so many others to God, but by the time the handwriting was on the wall, it was too late. Because Belshazzar was so self-unaware, he missed out on what God had provided. God wants each of us to make the most of every opportunity He has given to us. But for that to happen, we must first recognize the obvious– that God is God and we are not. It's that position of humility before the Lord that will afford us the opportunity to be used by Him. As you go through your day, ask yourself if you are acknowledging the obvious fact that God is God in your life. Then, display that reality for others around you by the way you think, speak, and act!

Act

One of the biggest ways to acknowledge that God is the number one priority in your life is to encourage others to also seek Him and His plan. Are you sharing with your friends, neighbors, and coworkers all that God has done in your life? Today, look for an opportunity to share with someone the change that God has made in your life.

Pray

Dear God, I pray that as You provide me with opportunities to make a difference You also give me the discernment and insight to take advantage of them. Keep me from becoming self-unaware so that I can continue to understand who You truly are and what You have provided for me. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
