More Than Thinking "Thanks"

Read

Psalm 100:4, "Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name."

Think

We have learned this week that thankfulness is more than an attitude. Thinking or feeling "thanks" is never enough. To truly show thankfulness, we must decide consciously what we are thankful for and then live it out in both our words and our actions. Nowhere is this truer than with our thanksgiving toward God. So often, we think of many things to be thankful to God for-our family, our health, our friends, etc. But thinking it is not enough. We must transition from thinking "thanks" to acting "thanks." How? The answer is simple, really. It all comes down to obedience. Obedience, as we have learned, is the key to thanksgiving. So as you go through your day, think of what you are thankful for. Then show your thankfulness to God by remaining obedient to Him in all you do!

Act

Obedience is simply understanding God's call in your life and then living it out each day. One of the biggest ways to understand what God has called you to do in life is by being part of what He does through the local church. Commit right now to being at Fellowship Church this weekend for the kickoff of a new series by Pastor Ed Young that will help you discover all that God has in store for you!

Pray

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the many blessings in my life. But I don't want to just think or say "Thanks." I want to live it out before You. So right now, I pray for the discipline I need to remain obedient to You in every area of my life, so that I can live out my "thanks" before You! In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
