Major Applause

Read

Genesis 8:20, "Then Noah built an altar to the Lord, and the Lord smelled the soothing aroma." Romans 11:36, "For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be glory forever. Amen."

Think

Imagine being at an electrifying concert. The performance is amazing and the crowd is going wild - singing along and dancing to the beat. As the show draws to an unbelievable end, the band swells, anticipating a deafening roar from the crowd. But, instead of the fans cheering and shouting for an encore, everyone in the audience gets quiet and starts heading for the door. That would be ABSURD! The performance deserves major applause! Whenever we express adoration for something or someone, it's called worship. Of all the things and people that we "worship," is there anyone more deserving than our great God? Noah's first recorded act after his long journey and 120 years of work is one of worship. You'd think the first thing on his mind would be to get a little R&R! Yet, he built an altar and worshiped. God recognized Noah's gratitude and it pleased Him. We are created to worship the Lord above all else. When we do, we give God the honor He deserves and we are reminded that all things flow through Him.

Act

It's a common misconception that worship is simply singing songs, but it is so much more! We can worship God in everything we do - being kind to others, loving our spouse, serving God's house. It's a lifestyle. What is one thing you can do today to worship God?

Pray

God, I am so thankful for Your powerful presence in my life. In everything I do, I want to worship You. Help me take my worship to the next level. In Jesus' name, Amen
