Matthew 3:17,
"Then a voice from heaven said, "This is my Son, whom I love -my Son with whom I am pleased."
Think
God's voice audibly rang down from heaven in this epic moment in the life of his Son, Jesus. Soon to embark on his public ministry, Jesus makes his way to the Jordan River to be baptized by immersion. As John the Baptist raises him up from the water, something incredible happens. God's voice is heard affirming his Son with two crucial phrases every child needs to hear: "I love you" and "I'm proud of you!" Just as God the Father expressed his love and devotion to his Son, your Heavenly Father offers the same encouragement to all who believe - every son and daughter united with him in Christ. So, regardless of your experience with your earthly father, your Father in heaven is well-pleased with you and loves you with all of his heart! Today, praise him and give thanks for his incredible love from above!
Act
Take a moment to meditate on God's words to Jesus. Keep this verse close to your heart and remember the importance of affirming and reflecting God's love to the closest people in your life.
Pray
God, thank you for your words of affirmation. I'm blown away that you feel that same about me as you do your Son, Jesus. I'm so grateful to be called your child! In Jesus' name. Amen.
