Exodus 2:15, "When Pharaoh heard of this, he tried to kill Moses, but Moses fled from Pharaoh and went to live in Midian, where he sat down by a well."

Think

Fearing for his life, Mr. Mint (Moses) "Skittled" into the "Dum Dum" desert (Midian). While he was hanging out with some "Jolly Ranchers," he met "Peppermint Patty" (Zappora), gave her a "Hershey's Kiss," and they got married. Soon after, Mr. Mint had a "Hot Tamale" encounter with God at the burning bush. It was then that God told him to go back to Egypt and tell "Mr. Goodbar" (Pharaoh) to let His people go. He even gave Mr. Mint a powerful "Pixie Stick" (the staff of God) to help prove God's power. However, Moses began throwing excuses at God as to why he could NOT take on this mission from God. But God wasn't up for listening to excuses. He had a plan, and He had chosen His man. Moses, though, failed to recognize the unique, God-given abilities he possessed that would help him accomplish God's purpose. He may have felt inadequate, but he would learn that when God gives you a mission, it's best to just say "Yes!" Just as Moses did, we too can make excuses to not follow God's directives. But when we make excuses, everyone loses. When we make excuses, we don't get to experience God's purpose in our lives. When we make excuses, we don't discover the uniqueness God has given us to fulfill the task. What is He asking you to do? Trust God to take care of the details. Don't lose out on discovering His "Canaan-dy Land" for your life by making excuses.

Act

It is important to understand that God has a purpose for our lives. He can fulfill His purpose regardless of our excuses. Romans 8:28 is a great reminder. Read this powerful verse, and commit it to memory.

Pray

Father God, thank You for giving me unique abilities in order to take on Your purpose for my life. I don't want to lose out on fulfilling Your purpose because of excuses. Give me courage to say "Yes" the first time You ask. In Jesus' name, Amen.
