Revelation 15:1-18:24

Revelation 15:3-4, “Great and marvelous are your deeds, Lord God Almighty. Just and true are Your ways, King of the nations. Who will not fear You, Lord, and bring glory to Your name? For You alone are holy. All nations will come and worship before You, for Your righteous acts have been revealed.”

Think

If you’re not a Bible scholar, chances are Revelation 15-18 reads like a science fiction novel with an incredibly intricate and difficult-to-follow plot. In these chapters, John uses apocalyptic imagery to describe his prophetic visions about the end times. He describes seven angels who hold seven bowls. These represent the wrath and judgment of God that is going to be poured out on the earth. This will be followed by a face-off between Satan and God in the final battle between good and evil. Great titans of industry and power who have boasted about their wealth and power will be laid low, and God will draw the faithful to Himself.

This is pretty crazy stuff! But this is what we need to remember: In these four chapters, we see the same threads woven throughout Scripture — Christ’s love and offer of redemption contrasted with the judgment that befalls those who choose not to accept it. The overarching lesson is that although following Christ is often the more difficult path, it’s the only way to achieve eternal victory. And let there be no question — Jesus will be victorious! Life is fleeting but forever is a really long time. God is our only viable option!

Pray

Heavenly Father, I’m so blessed that my eternity is secured in Christ’s victory. Thank You for calling me by name and rescuing me from my sin. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
