Think

It is impossible to avoid the fact that we all have issues that create dysfunction and baggage in our lives.  However, many of us spend a lifetime doing just that, trying to avoid the issues. But, by ignoring the dysfunction and baggage caused by a painful past, we end up creating more pain by trying to control others in our lives or developing destructive habits. Meanwhile, we leave behind a trail of broken relationships and a damaged reputation. The fear of facing our own issues can cause desperate attempts to fix our problems on our own rather than taking a deeper look at ourselves. But the reality is, we are powerless on our own to change the past, control others, or cope with habits. What is the remedy of solving our problem then? We need to ask for help! We aren't meant to face our issues alone. God is waiting for us to ask Him for help.  He has also put a community of people around us so we won't have to face our issues alone. It's time to step off the ride of pride and ask God to give you the courage to allow Him to unpack the baggage you've been carrying for so long.

Pray

Heavenly Father, thank you for not leaving me alone to deal with my issues. I need Your help. I know I can't face my issues without Your help. And I know only You can fix them. Help me to reach out to the people in my life who can support me as I unpack the baggage of my life. In Jesus' name, Amen!
