Image is Everything!

Read

James 1:17, "Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights."

Think

People picture God in many different ways. Some see him as a detached deity who's too far away to be involved in our daily lives. Others see him as a waiter, intent on serving our every whim. And sadly, many view God as a policeman ready to write them a ticket every time they have even the slightest unclean thought. Such misconceptions are often made by people with distorted images of fatherhood. They often project that same distorted image onto their Father in heaven – but nothing could be farther from the truth. God is perfect and, therefore, the perfect parent. He wants us to succeed, to experience fulfillment, and exude joy. He wants to spend quality time with us. When we view God as our provider, defender, healer, protector, and giver of all good things, our lives reflect his very nature and character. So, remember, image is everything! The more we obey God and seek him, the more we bear his image. And as Christ-followers, that's our goal. Every day brings new opportunities to show the world just how great God is and shine his light for all to see!

Act

Listen to the words of "Good Good Father" by Chris Tomlin. Let the truth of the lyrics remind you of God's overwhelming goodness, grace, and love.

Pray

God, thank you for being such a "good, good" Father! You always have my best interest in mind and I could never thank you enough for all you've done and will do in my life! I give my all to you because I know you've certainly given your all to me! In Jesus' name, Amen.
