Read

1 Corinthians 6:19-20, "Don't you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price." 1 Peter 2:5, "And you are living stones that God is building into His spiritual temple. What's more, you are His holy priests. Through the mediation of Jesus Christ, you offer spiritual sacrifices that please God."

Think

Buying a home is a big deal, especially when you consider that it's likely the largest personal financial move you will ever make in your life. As you sign the papers to close on the house, your heart overflows with excitement. But did you realize that long before you ever closed on a house, God closed on His house - you! For the past 2000 years, everyone who calls on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ is God's dwelling place - His home. The Holy Spirit takes up permanent residence in those of us who, by faith, place our trust in Jesus. Literally, our body becomes God's house. But here is something even more amazing. God is collectively building up Christians into a holy temple. Every Christ-follower is one more living stone placed with perfect precision to form God's holy temple. Are you a living stone? If not, a homecoming is needed. Time to close the deal on God's biggest purchase!

Act

Take this moment to consider the implications of your body being God's house. Everywhere you go, you carry the presence of God into that arena. Let this thought be central as you go about your agenda for today.

Pray

Dear God, help me see the fact that because of my faith in Jesus, You live in me. My body is Your home. Open my eyes to all this means as I go about my day. In Jesus' name, Amen.
