1 Peter 5:6-7, “Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”
When you’re facing a time of anxiety or worry, most often, the best way to get through it is to go through it. But this is easier said than done! When the wall of fear and anxiety seems impossible, how do we do that? How do we keep moving forward when everything in us says to quit?
The secret is kneeling down and lifting up! When we are on our knees in prayer and humbly admit we can’t do it on our own, God lifts us up and provides us with the courage to keep moving forward. He gives us a new perspective as we prayerfully consider our situation and ask for His help. He works out our circumstances for our good. He gives us the strength to persevere and replaces our anxiety with peace.
Don’t bail out before the breakthrough comes. Don’t give in to your fears. Keep moving forward on your knees in prayer. God is in control, and though there may not be a quick answer of how to get over it, God will get you through it in time.
Practice peace today. When you feel overwhelmed, take a deep breath and ask God to replace your worry with calmness. Trust that God has brought you through it before and that He can and will do it again.
Heavenly Father, thank You for always being there for me. Help me to remember that there is nothing too big for You. Replace my anxiety with Your peace and help me to trust You in everything I face every day. In Jesus’ name, Amen
