Ephesians 6:11 "Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil."
Think
Have you ever had a time when you were about to make a decision and something felt off? It could be a too-good-to-be-true deal, a persuasive argument, or a seemingly insignificant choice. Behind many of life's crossroads, there's often more than meets the eye.
Satan is a master tactician. He studies us, aware of our strengths and, more importantly, our vulnerabilities. Like a cunning chess player, he plans several moves ahead, attempting to trap us in corners of doubt, fear, or temptation.
The term schemes, in the original Greek text, refers to "cunning arts, deceit, craft, and trickery." Satan doesn't play fair. He exploits our weakest moments, deceiving us into thinking we're isolated, defeated, or unworthy. Yet knowing his strategies gives us an advantage. If we're aware that a real enemy is actively trying to lead us astray, we can be proactive in safeguarding ourselves.
The armor of God isn't merely defensive; it's also a tool of discernment. It enables us to identify and deflect the enemy's advances. Recognizing Satan's patterns helps us counteract his plans with truth, righteousness, and the gospel of peace.
