1 John 5:4-5, "For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world-our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?"

"Victory is about the end and also about the beginning." Imagine if your favorite team – in any sport – was guaranteed an undefeated season. On one hand, you might be thrilled; but on the other hand, you would probably be waiting for the catch. Every victory comes at a price, especially a guaranteed one. In the game of life, God has already secured the victory for us. That's right – we've already won! He sent his son, Jesus, to defeat our ultimate adversary - sin and death. And, Jesus WON! (Cue the Queen song .... We are the champions, my friend!) What that means for Christ-followers is our victory is not just realized at the end of our life when we die and go to Heaven. It's realized in the beginning; the moment we begin a relationship with Jesus. God wants to help us experience victory in everyday life. Every morning we wake up, we start FROM victory. With each circumstance, decision, up-and-down moment or situation, we approach it from a place of victory.

Act

What is on your to-do list today? What meetings or events are on your calendar? Are you approaching them with the confidence of a victor? Go through each item on your calendar and tell yourself out loud that Jesus wants to give you victory. Even if it doesn't go the way you imagined, trust that he is working it out for your good and his purpose.

Pray

Dear God, thank you for sending Jesus to secure the ultimate victory! Help me to see my day through your eyes and tackle whatever comes my way with the attitude of a champion. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen!
