James 1:21, "Therefore, putting aside all filthiness and all that remains of wickedness, in humility receive the word implanted, which is able to save your souls."

Think

In God We Trust! Want to be a winner in life? Coach James gives us the game plan in one sentence. He calls for a moral housecleaning that will allow us to be in a proper state of mind to not only hear God's voice but to act on it as well. The greatest inhibitor of spiritual growth and maturity in the life of a Christ-follower is the willingness to allow bad behavior to remain in his or her life. Coach James makes it clear that the time is now to take off the dirty clothes of a life apart from God. It's great to regularly hear the truth of God's game plan for winning in life, but it will never produce lasting results if we do not lay aside the evil in our lives. Game-day Christians throw off the bad and submit to the good. They humbly receive the truth of God and allow it to be planted in their minds. They let the word sink deep into their hearts so that it will overflow into every aspect of their lives. Simply put, game-day believers are teachable and moldable. They are willing to make changes in their lives as they surrender to God.

Act

Tape a one dollar bill to your refrigerator with the "In God We Trust" side facing out. Let it be a reminder that you choose to lay aside bad behavior and trust in God's truth. You are under God's influence!

Pray

Heavenly Father, I choose to not allow disobedience to remain in my life. I trust you and submit myself to you! Amen.
