"The resurrection of Jesus Christ gives Christ followers the basis to live in Godfidence." The greatest truth concerning Jesus is not his death on a cross, but his resurrection from the dead. Thousands upon thousands died on crosses in the ancient world, so his death is not especially earth-shaking. But what is astounding is that Jesus did not stay dead! Peter declared in Acts 2, "God raised him (Jesus) from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him." Why was it impossible? Because Jesus was more than just a man. Jesus was God in the flesh and the resurrection was the crowning proof of his deity. Jesus' resurrection is also the guarantee of our victory over our greatest enemy, death. Jesus said that God so loved the world that he gave his only son (Jesus) and that whoever believes in him would not perish but have eternal life. The same power that brought Jesus back to life is the same power that gives us eternal life. Now that is Godfidence!
