Read

Matthew 6:33, "But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you."

Think

"Allow God to be the ringmaster of your life!' "Family life" can be a phrase that brings a lot of anxiety. Every family has unique challenges that revolve around finances, health, schedules, careers and more. But sometimes it can feel like a three-ring circus. Too many times we find ourselves just surrendering to the chaos, believing it's a necessary evil that can't be avoided. But what if it didn't have to be so? God has given clear guidelines to help us manage and prioritize our life, so we don't have to live in chaos and anxiety. When Jesus said, "...and all these things..." he was referring to the worries of life that affect us all. Many times, we find ourselves attempting to juggle the struggles and be the ringmaster of our very own three-ring circus. But Jesus gives us the answer to stopping the chaos. He said, "Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness..." Let God be the ringmaster of your life and your family. Make him your priority and "...all these things shall be added to you."

Act

We can all do a better job of prioritizing our lives. Make a list of your priorities (the things you know should come first – God, spouse, kids, work) and another list of your commitments (the activities that demonstrate our real priorities). Do your commitments reflect that God is the ringmaster of your life? If not, ask God to help you determine where changes can be made so your commitments reflect that he is your priority.

Pray

Dear God, thank you for caring enough for my life to give me a plan to prioritize it. I know I allow the chaos of life to get in the way of my commitment to make you the ringmaster of my life. Help me to truly seek you first in everything I do. I know when I do, chaos will cease, and your peace will replace it. In Jesus' name, Amen!
