Proverbs 25:11,  "A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in settings of silver."

Think

"Your words matter!" Research has revealed that people speak, on average, between 2,000 and 7,000 words per day. No matter which end of that spectrum we find ourselves in, though, the reality is that we all talk. A lot! But have you ever really thought about the words you speak? And not only what you say, but how you say it? God has given us the amazing ability to communicate with others. With that, we have been given a responsibility to use our words wisely – from our first words to our last words. Communication is a gift that can empower others to experience the most out of life. To be effective with our words, we must look to the example of the One who has given us the ability. And we must learn from the words that He shares with us in Scripture. As you think about the words you speak, are you using your words wisely? Is there life in what you share? Make the most of your words, and use the gift of communication for good!

Act

Think strategically about the words you share with those closest to you. When a moment arises where your communication can make a situation better or worse, take a breath, say a prayer, and ask God to help you choose the right words that will bring hope to any situation!

Pray

Dear Lord, thank You for giving me the ability to communicate. Help me to make the most of the words that I share, so that I can bring hope and empowerment to others. Give me the wisdom to choose my words wisely! In Jesus' name, Amen.
