Sharpened

Read

Proverbs 27:17,  "As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another."

Think

"Show me your friends and I'll show you, your future." What do you want for your future? Do you want to be emotionally healthy, relationally connected, and spiritually growing? If you want these things, you need to intentionally choose people who will help you in those areas. Paper doesn't sharpen iron. Plastic doesn't sharpen iron. For iron to be sharpened, it has to come in contact with something similar. In order for your friends to sharpen you, they have to be people who want similar things in life. Having these kinds of people in our lives requires intentional, relational decisions. The local church is the best place for you to find people who will "sharpen" you. But just showing up to church isn't enough. You can set two pieces of iron side-by-side, but that doesn't make them sharper! No sharpening happens without focused, intentional, and regular contact. If you want to develop emotionally, relationally, and spiritually, develop the kind of relationships that will sharpen you, and be intentional about making contact regularly with those God has put around you.

Act

Fellowship Church wants to make it as easy as possible for you to make contact with people who can "sharpen" you. If you haven't attended Table Talk on the weekend, sign up today at FellowshipChurch.com. Table Talk will help you find a Connect Group or serving opportunity with amazing people who want God's best for you! And once you are involved, get to know the people around you. Taking the time to ask one question could be the catalyst for a relationship that God will use to shape your future!

Pray

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for caring enough about my future to put people around me who can help me get to Your best. Please help me recognize the places I need to become involved and give me the courage to show up! In Jesus' name, Amen.
