Think

Whenever a new year begins, we want to look ahead and believe that our most incredible, biggest, and brightest year is ahead. We want to glance at the horizon and see mountaintop moment after mountaintop moment coming our way. No one wants to look ahead and realize that the next twelve months are going to be a repeat of the same old, same old. We don't want the mundane. But the reality is, after the excitement of the new year wears off, most of our lives are lived in the routine, the mundane. We do the same things, go to the same places, and have the same experiences. But God wants to-and can-use the mundane just as much as He uses the mountaintop moments. There's a mystique in the mundane! How do we begin to get more out of the mundane? It's no secret. The answer is found in today's verse. Begin to work at everything-from the mountaintop moments to the mundane-as if you were doing it for the Lord. Because when you begin to seek God in the mundane, you'll begin to experience the magnificent moments where God works every day of your life.

Act

Write down your routine-what you do each and every day. Start with things like when you wake up, what you do in the morning, where you go, and who you see. Now, take a moment to pray over each line item. And begin to see your routine as a list of opportunities to be used by God rather than something you just "have" to do.

Pray

Dear God, help me to see more in the mundane. Help me to see each moment in life as one that can bring me closer to You. Give me Your perspective so that I can begin to see the moments You want me to experience. In Jesus' name, Amen.
