Righteous Living

1 Corinthians 10:11, "These things happened to them as examples and were written down as warnings for us, on whom the culmination of the ages has come."

Think

From Romans to Jude, the New Testament letters serve as a guidebook for Christian living. Although they're addressing various audiences and churches over 2,000 years ago, they are just as relevant to our lives today. And even though they weren't written TO us, they were written FOR us! This portion of Scripture deals with active faith, grace, righteous living, church, relationships, marriage, perseverance, purpose, joy, and glorifying God. But if we fail to apply it, the information is useless. It's like knowing how to drive a car and never leaving the driveway! The lesson: Information without application is an abomination! A Christ-filled eternity begins when we believe Christ died for our sins and rose again. Ephesians 2:8 tells us we are saved by grace through faith. James 2:17 informs us faith without action is dead. So, at the edge of it all, authentic life-change happens when we want to obey Christ not because we have to, but because we want to.   Life-change is about transformation through application. Are you seeing growth in your relationship with Christ? Do you have active faith? Or, are you stuck in the driveway of your life watching other cars pass you by?

Act

As you study the Bible, allow the Bible to study you. Spend a few moments reflecting on what you read today and answer the question: "How can I live this out?"

Pray

Lord, thank You for the Bible. Grow my understanding of transformation through application. Show me anything  that's unknowingly blocking me from fulfilling Your purpose. I seek to be a faithful servant and bring glory to Your name. Amen.
