Matthew 4:4, "Jesus answered, ‘It is written: "Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God."'"

Think

Marathon runners are an amazing breed. Their bodies are finely tuned through training, and they know what it takes to make it through such a grueling race. After all, running 26.2 miles takes more than just a desire to make it to the end! Runners understand that to reach the finish line, they need to be fueled by the kind of food that will help them maximize their potential. Life, it has been said, is a marathon. To make it through, therefore, we need to be just as finely tuned. Not just physically, but emotionally, mentally, and spiritually as well. And we need to be intentional about what kind of fuel we digest. The church is the table where we come to experience the ultimate meal, the Bread of Life. But this meal isn't some half-baked meal. It is the cosmic carbohydrate, presented to us by God, that gives us the power to run strong through our entire lives. Through His life, death, and resurrection, Jesus displayed the kind of power that is on tap for each of us every day of our lives. We don't have to live a half-baked life. We can live fully and completely, relying on Him for the fuel to make it to the finish line. Ready? Set. Go!

Act

Runners often utilize personal trainers to get the most out of themselves. Do you have someone in your life-a trusted friend or biblical counselor-who is helping you maximize your life? If not, check out a list of trusted biblical counselors at FellowshipChurch.com/Christian-counseling. Remember, you don't have to run the race alone!

Pray

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for providing me with the kind of fuel I need to maximize my potential. I pray for continued blessing as I seek to follow You through the race of life, and for the opportunities to show others how to run the greatest race they can as well! In Jesus' name, Amen.
