Peace

Read

Ephesians 2:19-20, "So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and are of God's household, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the cornerstone."

Think

"We will experience the peace OF God when we have peace WITH God." Peace - A state of tranquility and quietness. This definition of peace can seem elusive. It's more common for us to feel alone, anxious and insecure, believing the enemy's lies that tell us we aren't enough, we don't belong, or we aren't loved. In our efforts to meet these needs, we step into the rat race of trying to perform our way into peace. Unfortunately, we find everything but peace because our efforts just take us further from the author of peace. God, the author of peace, didn't intend for us to live alone, anxious or insecure. As Christ-followers, we are no longer "strangers" to him, we now belong. As part of God's family, we can have confidence and security in who we are because of whose we are. When we accept and embrace the truth of our identity in Jesus Christ, we will find a peace that transcends all understanding.

Pray

Dear God, thank you for accepting me and loving me. Sometimes it's hard to remember that you say I am enough. Open my heart, mind and ears to receive your reminders for me. Help me to find true peace as your child. In Jesus' name, Amen!
