On Purpose

Read

Genesis 1:1, "In the beginning God created...." Genesis 1:31, "God saw all that he had made, and it was very good."

Think

"God created you on purpose for a purpose!" For just a moment, clear whatever surface is in front of you. Now, using the nothing in front of you, create something. Anything. Go on. Try it. You can't do it, can you? No one can. Except for God! And that is just what he did. Everything that we see around us in the world came from one source – God. He began with nothing; yet, he created everything! The evidence is overwhelming. God didn't stop with just creating the world, though. He took the time to intimately and intricately create you as well! Too often, we allow the world to convince us that we don't have a purpose. We listen to the lies of the evil one that our lives have no meaning, or that there's no point in what we are doing. But that simply isn't true! God, who created everything, gave you a purpose. Are you allowing God to fulfill that purpose through you?

Act

Take a moment and go outside. Look around at all that God has created – look at the trees, the sky, the earth. Simply stand in awe for a moment. And remember that the very one who created all that has created you for a purpose!

Pray

God, I know that you have created me for a purpose. Thank you! As I begin this day, help me to see that purpose. Give me a new perspective on why I am here, and grant me the ability to accomplish your purpose for me. Amen.
