No Pain No Gain

Read

2 Timothy 4:5, " But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry."

Think

"We are comforted by Christ to be uncomfortable for Christ." Without question, the best life lessons involve personal pain. Muscle is built in the gym by painfully tearing tissue that leads to new growth. Financial responsibility results from the pain of miscalculation. The most inspiring music commonly comes from a place of personal pain. No pain, no gain. When we choose to follow Jesus and obey what the Bible says, we have the duty of sharing his story with others. It can be inconvenient and risky to step out of our comfort zone and talk about him, but it's always worth it. This verse is telling us to brave the awkward and the messy moments and just go out and tell others about Jesus. We get uncomfortable for Christ so that others can receive comfort from Christ. And it doesn't have to be a long conversation going through all the books in the Bible. A kind word at the right time or a simply visiting a person going through something difficult may be all it takes. The temporary pain is always worth the gain of life-change in others. Let's keep reaching!

Act

Take a moment and write down your personal life-change story. Include how you met Jesus and how your life has been changed. Look for moments today, and in the coming days and weeks, to share this story and invite someone to Fellowship Church.

Pray

Thank you, Jesus, that someone chose discomfort to share your love with me. Help me to see the opportunities around me every day and give me the endurance to keep reaching! Amen.
