Read

1 Timothy 6:7, "For we brought nothing into this world, and we can take nothing out of it."

Think

To invest is knowingly and willfully putting effort, time or resources into something you know is important. We all invest in something. For students, it can be good grades, extracurricular activities or social media. For adults, it can be your career, family, and hobbies. But, for all of us, the best thing to invest in is what really matters – the eternal. Have you ever thought about what you invest in? The Bible tells us to set our mind on things above, to be focused on Jesus so our priorities can align with his. Make your life about what truly lasts. Leave a legacy by investing in the church and in people. Be an example to others about what really matters. The truth is, we all come from dust and will return to dust - our outward appearance and the things we have will not come with us to heaven. Live your life to pursue God and be intentionally focused on those around you!

Act

We all invest our time into something. Take a moment right now to write down the things you're investing in that are helpful or harmful, (serving in church, studying in school, making godly friendships, spending too much time on social media, gossiping about others, etc.) After you've written this down, evaluate if you're investing in what God wants you to. If not, make changes today to invest in what God wants for you!

Pray

Dear God, thank you for reminding me about what really matters. I can get so focused on worldly things that I forget that you're what I need to be focused on. Help me each day to invest my life into what you want for me. In Jesus' name, Amen.
