Ecclesiastes 3:22,
"So I saw that there is nothing better for a person than to enjoy their work, because that is their lot. For who can bring them to see what will happen after them?" Philippians 2:4,
"Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others."
Think
Do you ever have these thoughts in the morning: "I don't want to go to work today," "Maybe I could skip that class this afternoon" or "I wonder if the kids will just get themselves ready this morning"? We all do! In the monotony of everyday life, it's easy to forget that there's purpose and power in our work! God has placed us all in different professions. We are moms and dads, teachers, assistants, students, CEOs, and so much more. At the beginning of time, God gave Adam and Eve the gift of work in the garden before sin entered the world. Therefore, work isn't a punishment, it's a privilege! With God's perfect orchestration of events, we know that work comes from Him and is intended for our enjoyment. Solomon, well-known for his wisdom, tells us that we are called to find joy in our work. God doesn't want us to float through life. He has given YOU specific gifts
on purpose
for a purpose. When we put our unique talents into action, we support one another and glorify God as we navigate life together!
Act
Take an honest inventory. Are you enjoying the work God has given you? List out everything you're thankful for in your current role, then thank Him for gifting you with unique abilities to work out your purpose no matter where you are!
Pray
Dear God, Thank You for caring so deeply about me that You have equipped me to work out my purpose no matter where I am! Help me walk in confidence as I use my gifts to help others. Amen.
