Just Go!

Exodus 3:10, "So now, go. I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people the Israelites out of Egypt."

Think

God gave Moses a seemingly impossible task – to bring God's people, the Israelites, out of Egypt. This wasn't a search and rescue for a few lost people in Egypt. This was two million Israelite slaves! To accomplish this task, Moses knew he had to first convince the Israelites that he really did receive this mission directly from God, and they had to be willing to follow him across the desert to the Promised Land of "Canaan-dy Land." He then had to convince Pharaoh to release his massive free workforce. You can imagine the many excuses Moses had ready for God as to why this would be impossible. But as the Bible tells us in Matthew 19:26, "...With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." As the story of Moses and the Israelites unfolds, this is proven true time and time again. Imagine what would have happened had Moses continued throwing excuses at God and turned his back on this mission? There are many lessons to be learned from the story of Moses and the Israelites. But one of the most valuable is that God is not looking for our ability; He's looking for our availability. Let's be honest with ourselves and ask an important question: Are we too busy throwing excuses God's way to be used by Him? Like Moses, we may feel completely inadequate to accomplish what God has called us to. And we are, if we rely on our own strength and ability. But if we trust God to do the impossible, we will experience the adventure of a lifetime as we launch out to discover His "Candy Land" for our lives!

Act

Read Exodus chapters 3 and 4 about the call God placed on Moses' life. Perhaps God is calling you to do something you feel is impossible. Make a list of all the excuses that you are giving Him. Now, hand them over to Him in prayer as you make yourself available to Him.

Pray

Father God, thank You for making the impossible, possible. Help me to trust You more and remind me of what You have already made possible in my life. I want to be on the path that leads to Your "Candy Land" for me. I may not have the ability that it takes, but I am available for Your purposes. In Jesus' name, Amen.
