John 15:12-14, "My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends. You are my friends if you do what I command."
Take a moment to think about what you love most in the world. Do you have it? Now, take that feeling and multiply it by a million. It might be hard to imagine, but that doesn't even come close to how much Jesus loves you. Our finite minds can't even begin to fathom the extent of His love.
Jesus laid down His life by dying on the cross so we could have the choice to be His friend. In today's reading, Jesus shares the importance of loving others the way He loved us.
We've experienced the greatest love through Jesus and, because of that, we can truly love others. What does that look like? When was the last time you reflected His love by how you treated a friend or a stranger through your words and actions? When was the last time you shared the gospel or invited someone to church? Don't keep the greatest news ever to yourself. Make it a priority today and every day to spread Jesus' love to others.
Take a moment to write down a few ways you can see Jesus' love in your life. Now, write down several ways you can show that love to others.
Dear God, Thank You for Your endless love and for sending Jesus so I could experience this love and share it with others. Help me to be a vessel for You! In Jesus' name, Amen.
