Invitation

Read

Luke 14:23-24, "Then the master told his servant, ‘Go out to the roads and the country lanes and compel them to come in, so that my house will be full.  I tell you, not one of those who were invited will taste of my banquet.'"

Think

Imagine the excitement of being invited to THE party of the year. The host is famous for providing the very best food, fun, and hospitality for their guests. We would jump at that chance to attend, and make whatever calendar changes necessary to be there. However, in the Parable of the Great Banquet, this was not the reaction the master's invitation received from the guests he invited. Instead of being excited, the invitees gave lame excuses for not attending. So, the master rescinded his invitation to those invitees and instead sent his servants out to offer it to those who would better appreciate and benefit from his hospitality. The point is, we have all been invited to a Great Banquet hosted by God that is beyond our wildest imagination. It's true that some will sadly reject His invitation. But there are others who aren't even aware of the invitation yet. As Christ followers, it's our job to make sure to extend that invitation to those who would be seated in chair one at the table. We are the servants the Master has sent to compel those who need the Bread of Life to come to the table so that His house will be full. Who are you inviting to the table?

Act

Fellowship Church has so many opportunities for us to invite people to the table. Make sure to invite someone to chair one by bringing them to "The Classic Christmas Show" and also to our Christmas Candlelight services. Just click back twice to find out dates and times!

Pray

Heavenly Father, thank You for the banquet You have prepared for us and invited us all to be a part of. Help me to do my part in making sure everyone knows about their invitation to The Banquet also. I pray Your House will be full and that those in chair one begin to consume the Bread of Life at your table. In Jesus' precious name, Amen.
