Genesis 27:42-43,
"When Rebekah was told what her older son Esau had said, she sent for her younger son Jacob and said to him, "Your brother Esau is consoling himself with the thought of killing you. Now then, my son, do what I say: Flee at once..." Luke 8:17,
"For all that is secret will eventually be brought into the open, and everything that is concealed will be brought to light and made known to all."
Think
"Who we are when no one is looking is who we really are." Jacob's home life was a disaster. Even though his family was materially wealthy, they were full of dysfunction. He was in a sin-uation. Not only was he surrounded by bad influences, he made mistakes and bad decisions himself. So, he left home and set out on a journey. And as the sun began to set, he was surrounded by darkness. The enemy often uses darkness to isolate and tempt us. He uses the lie that what we do in private does not impact anyone else. But nothing could be further from the truth. Whether its porn, substance abuse, cheating, or anything else, it will inevitably come out into the open. Are you struggling with a secret sin? Don't stay in the dark! Bring it to light! Confess that sin now to God and ask for his help. Share what is going on with a trusted, Christian friend who can help keep you accountable. It may be difficult at first, but God wants you to walk in freedom, not shackled to secret sins.

Pray
God, thank you for rescuing me from my sin. Give me the strength to obey you even when no one is watching. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen!
