Read
Genesis 32:22,
"That night Jacob got up and took his two wives, his two female servants and his eleven sons and crossed the ford of the Jabbok." Colossians 1:2,
"Look up, and be alert to what is going on around Christ-that's where the action is. See things from his perspective."
Think
"God has you right where you are for a reason." Have you ever been on a journey, only to take a wrong turn and end up completely lost? All of a sudden, you look around and wonder, "How did I get here?" And more importantly, "How do I get where I'm supposed to be?" As we continue studying the life of Jacob, we've come to a point in his story where he's far away from home and, it seems, far away from any place God wants him to be. But what we are going to find out is that he is exactly where he needs to be! Are you like Jacob? Looking around and wondering how you ended up where you are? You may not see it right now, but the choices you have made to this point – good and bad – have brought you to a place where God can work on you and get you where he wants you to be. Wherever you find yourself in life, realize that God has you there for a reason. Don't give up just because you think you are "lost." Instead, trust that God is ready to meet you right where you are!
Act
Take a moment to think about your position in life. Maybe you aren't where you thought you'd be, or even where you want to be. If that's the case, take the next three minutes to pray genuinely for God to open your eyes so you can see things from his perspective.
Pray
God, I believe that you are working in my life, even when I don't see it. Help me to trust you with where I am right now. And help me gain the right perspective as you continue to work in and through me to get me to where you want me to go. Amen!
