Job 11:7-9,
"Can you fathom the mysteries of God? Can you probe the limits of the Almighty? They are higher than the heavens above-what can you do? They are deeper than the depths below-what can you know? Their measure is longer than the earth and wider than the sea." Psalm 147:5,
"Great is our Lord, and abundant in power; His understanding is beyond measure."
Think
There is something special about Heavyweight Champions in boxing. Names like Muhammad Ali, Mike Tyson, and George Foreman transcend the sport and are household names. These heavyweights are well-trained athletes who can deliver precise punches, but many boxers can do that. What sets these champions apart is that their precise punches are delivered with unparalleled power. The word
glory means "heavy or weighty, packed with power." God's glory is beyond all. He is omnipotent, meaning all-powerful. When He chooses, God packs a punch that's precise, unparalleled, and undefeated. God truly is the ultimate Heavyweight Champion. The next time you are fighting against a habit you want to break, an obstacle that seems too great, or opposition that seems unbeatable – remember the ultimate Heavyweight Champion wants to fight that battle beside you. He knows precisely what is needed to win and is powerful enough to bring victory in all circumstances.
Act
What are you fighting today? Be precise. Write down the specific area in which you need God, then go to the Heavyweight Champ in prayer, asking Him to provide what you need to secure a victory.
Pray
God, I believe You are more powerful than all others. I believe You know exactly what I need. Please show Your power by providing for my specific need today. I ask this so that You will receive glory. In Jesus' name, Amen.
