Get to Know Your CEO

Read

Colossians 3:23-24,  "Whatever work you do, do it with all your heart. Do it for the Lord and not for men."

Think

"Whatever you do, do it for Jesus, not for men." Who is your CEO? You may think of your boss, a teacher or a coach. But Colossians 3 tells us that Jesus is our CEO. Why is this important? Read the first part of the verse again: "Whatever work you do, do it with all your heart." Whether you're changing diapers, typing papers, pulling reports, digging ditches or closing deals, give it your BEST. Because whatever we do, we do it for the ultimate CEO, Jesus. He gave us all he had when he died for us, so this is a chance for us to bring our best back to him! "But I don't respect my leaders." Take a moment and Photoshop the face of Jesus over the face of your manager, teacher, coach, or parent. Can you see it? THAT's who you're really working for! Jesus is someone you can always trust and respect. And, best of all, he's always working for you! When you remember it's Jesus you are working for, even the everyday tasks can become extraordinary as you find a new source of motivation and passion for all you do!

Act

Are there areas where you are doing just enough to get by? If Jesus were to walk into your workplace – whether it's an office, a school, or your home – how would your energy and level of excellence change?

Pray

My Father in Heaven, please help me to understand who I am really working for. May I remember the value of every task because I am doing them for Jesus. Amen.
