Read

Psalm 23:5, "You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows." Romans 8:37, "No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us."

Think

We are more than conquerors! King David, no stranger to heartache and troublesome circumstances, dealt with his fair share of running from the enemy. He wrote Psalm 23:5, a word picture of him attending a lavish feast. The benevolent host, the Lord himself, honors him by anointing his head with oil and ensures his cup is always overflowing with fine wine as his enemies watch, powerless before his God. Throughout the Bible, we see leaders show strength amidst persecution and pain. From jail, Paul encouraged the Christians in Rome to stand firm in their faith reminding them, "We are more than conquerors" through Christ. Despite imprisonment, Paul could write about true freedom with a joyful heart because of his confidence in God's almighty power. Difficulty and pain are part of life. But through Christ, even if we feel defeated we're not! Remember, his torturous death looked like the most epic failure of all time. Yet as his enemies reveled at the thought of his demise, Jesus burst forth from death in ultimate victory over the grave. And because of him, we win both here and in heaven!

Act

Today's song is "Raise a Hallelujah" by Bethel Music. As you listen to it with a grateful heart, remember that through Christ, you are MORE THAN A CONQUEROR - not just some of the time, but all the time!

Pray

Dear Lord, I'm so thankful that I am more than a conqueror through Christ. Today, I lift these situations up to you: ___________. Help me tap into your peace and break free from my worries as I stand firm in faith knowing that you are always and ultimately in control. In Jesus' name, Amen.
