Read

Romans 12:1-2, "Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God - this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - His good, pleasing and perfect will."

Think

Wouldn't it be nice if we could simply look at a map with an arrow saying, "You Are Here" and trace our finger over the easiest route to becoming who God created us to be? Unfortunately, life isn't that simple. We may know what God wants for our lives, yet we still justify certain behaviors, make excuses, and manipulate our perspective to see what we want to see. At times, we don't even realize we're doing it. Even the most self-aware people have blind spots. That's why self-examination is so important in our walk with God. Today's verse says we're either conforming or transforming. We're either conforming to the things of this world or transforming to become more like Christ. Transformation, overcoming behavioral blind spots, requires action. It starts with prayer and Bible study. Because, to truly know ourselves, we must first know God. As we seek to understand, God increases our awareness. The more persistent we are, the more God will help us take steps to change. Today, look into the mirror of God's Word as you examine where you are and take a step toward transformation. Do this regularly, and you'll begin to see Jesus more and more clearly in your own reflection!

Act

Today's verse marks a shift in our lives - a fresh start. Identify one area that needs renewal. What's one action step you can take towards transformation in that area? And, don't forget to set an alarm for 5:14 to read Ephesians 5:14-16!

Pray

Dear Lord, I offer my body as a living sacrifice. I want every aspect of my life to be true and proper worship for Your glory. Help me see my spiritual blind spots and make necessary changes as You transform me into who You created me to be. In Jesus' name, Amen.
