Romans 5:8, "
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
Think
"There is a work only He can do..." Have you ever thought back to a mistake or decision you have made and thought, "There is no way God could love me after that!" If we're honest with ourselves, many of us have convinced ourselves that we are too far gone to be loved by God. But nothing could be further from the truth! God's love for us isn't based on anything we have or have not done. He loves us because that is who he is – God is love! Don't buy into the lie that God's love wavers based on your actions. There's nothing you can do to make God love you any more, or any less! As today's verse reminds us, God loved us so much - even before we realized it - that he sent Jesus to die on the cross for our sins. All we have to do is accept that free gift and say, "Thank you, God, for doing the work only you could do!"
Act
Have you accepted the work that Jesus did as your Savior? If not, you can do it now by praying this prayer: "
Jesus, I give my life to you. I believe in the work you did for me when you died on the cross. I turn from my mistakes and turn to you. Thank you for rescuing me!" If you prayed that prayer for the first time, click the "Contact" button below and let us know!
Pray
God, thank you for doing what we could not do by sending your Son, Jesus, to close the gap between us. May the love I have in you give me confidence to live in a way that honors you. In Jesus' name, Amen.
