Decisions, Decisions

Read

Daniel 6:3, "Daniel so distinguished himself among the administrators and the satraps by his exceptional qualities that the king planned to set him over the whole kingdom."

Think

How many decisions do you make in a day? If you're like most people, the number is staggering! Life is the sum total of all the decisions we make. Some are minor; others are major. But no matter how big they are, each decision has an impact on who we are and where we go in life. Daniel, the Old Testament prophet, was a man who made great decisions. The Bible tells us that Daniel possessed "exceptional qualities." He had those qualities and was able to make such great decisions because he had a keen awareness of who God was and who He had created Daniel to be. That focus in his life afforded him the opportunities to make a difference in the world around him. As you think about your life, do the decisions you make set you up to make a difference in the lives of those around you? When others look at you, do they see "exceptional qualities"? Remember, it starts with being self-aware and acknowledging God as God. When you do that you will find yourself, like Daniel, in a position to be over all that God has in store for you.

Act

Read Proverbs 15:22. Think about those people in your life who can serve as advisers before you make any major decision. Ask them to help you make wise decisions and to point you in the direction God wants you to go.

Pray

Thank You, God, for the opportunities You have given to me. Help me to make the kind of decisions that You want me to make so that I can continue to make a difference in the world for You. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
