Constant Comments

Read

Colossians 4:6, "Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person."

Think

"Our comments are a sneak peek at who we truly are." There was a tea that came out a few years back called "Constant Comment." The developers gave it this name because they publicized that this tea was so good it would initiate constant comments from those who tasted it. Today's passage tells us that our comments should constantly have two ingredients: graciousness and seasoning. The Bible says that what comes out of our mouths originates in our hearts. And the fourth word in Colossians 4:6 is such a powerful word: "always." This means God wants us to always be accountable for what we say, because every time we speak, our hearts are on parade! What are your words saying about your heart? Let's make sure we are consistent not only in our walk, but also in our talk. Let the two ingredients of seasoning and graciousness be your Constant Comments!

Act

As you move throughout your day, constantly remind yourself to add these two important ingredients to all your conversations. And remember the word ALWAYS as do your best to be consistent in all your connections.

Pray

God, I want my talk to ALWAYS match my walk. Today, give me the words to say and the strength to be consistent as I engage with others. In Jesus' name, Amen.
