Connected for a Cause

Read

Daniel 6:8-9, "'Now, Your Majesty, issue the decree and put it in writing so that it cannot be altered-in accordance with the law of the Medes and Persians, which cannot be repealed.'  So King Darius put the decree in writing." Philippians 2:3-4, "Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others."

Think

Take a panoramic look at the world around us. Isn't it true that so many people are detached from reality? We see it in the media. We see it in politics. We see it in the sports. Far too many people are disassociated and disconnected. As a result, they miss the potential they could reach if they were tethered to God's truth. Why are they detached? It all comes down to the one word we've been looking at: pride. When we are prideful, we are blinded to reality. This was King Darius' problem. He became so prideful that he missed a connection with God that would have allowed him to make a meaningful impact in the world. Daniel, however, had a close connection and association with the God of the universe. It was that association that allowed him to reach the right position and have the opportunity to make a difference. When we are connected with Christ; when our association is first and foremost with our Savior, we find ourselves in a position to be used by Him. And it is then that we discover just who God has created us to be and what He has created us to do. Are you connected with Christ? Are you experiencing His purpose and plan?

Pray

Dear Father, help me to stay tethered to Your truth, connected to Christ, and in a position to be used by You. Like Daniel, allow me to see things from Your perspective so I can experience Your plans for my life. In Christ's name I pray, Amen.
