Commitment To Christ

Read

Matthew 22:37-38, "‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment."

Think

Jesus was asked to pinpoint the greatest of all the commandments. He did that by sharing today's scripture passage to the surprised person who boldly asked the question. His reply holds true for us today as he clearly laid out for us to love God as our first priority! When anyone contemplates being a part of Fellowship Church, we share this important reminder that we are first to commit to Christ with all of our heart, mind and soul. It's easier to do when we remember that God loves us, too, with all of his heart. Sadly, we all broke his heart because of our sin. But, thankfully, God created a solution to our heart failure when he sent his one and only Son, Jesus, to die so that we might live. We receive the benefits of everlasting life in heaven and the Lord walking beside us every day when we invite Jesus to be the CEO of our lives. And what does he ask of us in return? To commit to Christ and love him with our whole heart! When we do this, we honor and obey the greatest commandment!

Act

Read through today's passage again and honestly ask yourself if you are completely committed to Christ in everything you do. Ask yourself if you are a sold-out believer who has wholeheartedly given every part of your life to Jesus. If any area comes to mind that you know needs next-leveling, commit right now to upping the ante in that area so that you can truly know that Jesus has your whole heart!

Pray

God, thank you for committing your all to me by sending your Son to commit his all by suffering an agonizing death so that I could really live. Thank you for that all-out commitment to me. Because of that, I promise to give my all to you in all that I do! In Jesus' name, Amen.
