Can’t Stop. Won’t Stop.

Read

Acts 5:42, “Day after day, in the temple courts and from house to house, they never stopped teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Messiah.”

Think

In the verse above, Peter and the disciples had just been released from prison and were given a stern warning to never speak in the name of Jesus again. The high priests and religious officials of the day were filled with jealousy because Peter was teaching about who Jesus was and how He could rescue them. But it wasn’t just that, it was that people were listening, and the religious leaders saw them as a threat.

Let’s read the second part of the verse again: “they never stopped.” Even though Peter and the disciples knew sharing the good news of Jesus with others could bring them opposition and hardship, it didn’t stop them!

Have you ever experienced criticism, isolation, or pain because you stood up for who Jesus is and what He has done in your life? Be encouraged that you are not alone! Jesus never said that following Him would be easy. But He did promise that you would never be alone and that you would always be equipped to handle whatever you face.

Keep sharing your story! Don’t stop because it gets uncomfortable. Jesus is right there with you!

Act

Write today’s verse or the phrase “Can’t Stop. Won’t Stop” on a notecard and put it somewhere it will encourage you – your desk, your school locker, or your daily planner.

Pray

God, thank You for reminding me that even if it’s sometimes uncomfortable to share my faith or take a stand for what is right, You are always with me and You will equip me for every situation. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
