Read:
Luke 17:15-17 “One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him—and he was a Samaritan. Jesus asked, 'Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine?'”
Think:
Ten lepers experienced a miraculous healing that not only liberated them from a horrific and agonizing disease, but also restored their ability to embrace their families and reintegrate into their communities. This remarkable transformation was a direct result of the compassionate act of Jesus. However, only one out of the ten returned to express gratitude.
It's evident that Jesus had literally bestowed upon them the gift of life itself. Given this profound act of mercy, it may seem crazy that all ten didn't return to shower him with thanks. Yet perhaps Jesus intended for us to shift our focus from the actions of the nine to the response of the one. In doing so, we find a lesson that transcends that ancient moment to right now.
We can all relate to the nine, as Jesus has granted us spiritually renewed lives through salvation. Every day presents us with countless opportunities to express our gratitude. We only need to take hold of them.

Pray:
Heavenly Father, you alone are worthy and can save. You have healed me from my sins and set me on a path to live with purpose. Help me to be focused and keep my eyes full of wonder and gratitude. In Jesus' name. Amen.
