As a child, there are things that don't come naturally to us. We have to learn how to walk, read, or ride a bicycle. Our parents can explain how to do these things in the simplest, step-by-step method. But we will never learn the skills until we make the effort to put those steps into practice. It takes time, commitment, and patience. But with consistent practice, we learn and can eventually help others learn, too. Similarly, for those who are new believers, spiritual maturity isn't natural. In fact, spiritual maturity is a very intentional process. There are steps we must take to move from chair to chair around the table. As Jesus said, there is a cost to our growth. There is a relational cost, time cost, and financial cost that we must be willing to pay if we hope to develop spiritual maturity. And understanding these costs requires continual effort and commitment. While the path to spiritual maturity is simple, it isn't always easy. This is why, in order to grow, it's important to commit to the steps offered at Fellowship Church. Commit to attending church consistently. Commit to attending our Growth Track classes. Commit to reading these devotionals each day and spending time alone with God. Commit to a connect group. By intentionally putting these initial steps into practice, you will be well on your way to living a spiritually mature life and helping others to do the same!

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for providing a church that gives me the steps I need to become spiritually mature.  Help me to commit to those steps so that I can know You better.  In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
