Psalm 127:3-5 “Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their opponents in court.”
Think:
Children are likened by the Psalmist to arrows held by a warrior in several profound ways. Just as an arrow must undergo careful shaping and forming to fulfill its purpose, children require nurturing and guidance to develop their full potential. Like arrows need skill and strength to hit their mark, children thrive when provided with expert care and guidance. Without the necessary care and attention, both arrows and children may stray from their intended path. Much like an arrow is launched only once, children have a finite window of opportunity to embark on their life journey.
Children serve as an extension of their parents' strengths and accomplishments, reflecting the values instilled in them. Yet it is essential to acknowledge that, like arrows that can be used for good or harm, children possess the potential for meeting considerable challenges in the world. As parents we must be observant and not distracted as we are raising this next generation of spiritual warriors.

Pray:
Jesus, give me strength and determination to stay grounded when I get weary. Help me to remember that my children are a gift from you. May I be sharp and vigilant as I guard against the distractions along the way that will disrupt and discourage. In Jesus' name. Amen.
