Matthew 7:7, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.”
Lamentations 3:25, “The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him…”
Do you ever get frustrated when you call someone and they don’t answer? Do you get irritated when someone doesn’t return a text?
Sometimes God answers prayers immediately, and we are excited and grateful. We are ready to tell everyone about His goodness. Then other times, it seems our prayers linger right above our heads, and miracles are nowhere to be found. We question whether God is even listening to our petitions. As time creeps by, doubts begin to sneak in.
What most believers who have walked these roads before have discovered is that God wants our trust and growth. He desires to answer our prayers. But, more importantly, He wants our unflinching faith. God isn’t ignoring our calls**;** He is growing our faith.
As we grow spiritually and learn to understand the character of God, our attitudes will change. We will observe His consistency and His care. We will see that He does care about us and our circumstances. We will learn to trust that He loves us. Then our confidence will grow.
Continue to pray big, bold prayers. This is tangible evidence that you are choosing to trust the miracle-working Savior – even in the face of difficult circumstances.
God, thank You for reminding me today that You are not ignoring me. You hear every cry of my heart. Will You comfort me in the waiting? Help me trust Your perfect timing. Amen.
