Matthew 8:10,13,
"'Truly I tell you, I have not found anyone in Israel with such great faith. ... Go! Let it be done just as you believed it would.'"
Think
"A faith that has been tested is a faith that can be trusted." You exercise faith every day! Sitting in a chair takes faith that it will support you. Driving in a car takes faith that it will get you safely where you need to go. Shopping online requires a faith that your stuff will arrive as promised. It's easy to put our faith in those things because they have a proven track record. But is God really any different? Countless people from biblical times – like the Roman solider in today's verse, as well as countless people around you in church on Sunday, can share story after story of how God is trustworthy. From massive miracles of healing and provision to everyday answers and assurance that he cares – God can be trusted. When we find ourselves riding the waves of unpredictable circumstances and situations, we have a choice: we can focus on God's proven track record and trust him, or we can focus on our doubts and miss out on God's presence and provision.
Act
Set a reminder every day this week that says, "God, I trust you with _________." When the reminder comes up, stop and fill in the blank with what you are facing in that moment. Then choose to believe God will help with whatever you are facing.
Pray
God, I trust you with every aspect of my life. Give me faith to open my heart and life to you and let you take over the things only you can heal. In Jesus' name, Amen.
